Artist's Description
The Sentinal 2008 I'm always on the hunt for a good scene to draw. On the way in to a friend's house in Lockport, NY I saw this scene and knew I wanted to paint it. It was very cold out. I bundled up as much as I could and went out to brave the weather. I sketched it rapidly studying the colors. I brought it inside and was itching to paint it. I knew the colors I wanted to use. But I held off painting it till I could scan the drawing as I prefer to do. When I eventually got it scanned I painted it rapidly remembering the basic colors I had in mind. In spite of the fact that it was done quickly I was proud of its execution. I saved this piece to enter it in the annual exhibit for the Buffalo Society of Artists. It was rejected.
